Old Town (Ciutat Vella)
Day one explores the Ciutat Vella: the free Museo de Bellas Artes, the old city gate Torres de Serranos with its view over the Turia park, the atmospheric Plaza de la Virgen and the cathedral with the El Micalet tower. On to the Gothic UNESCO silk exchange Lonja de la Seda, the Art Nouveau Mercado Central and the grand town-hall square.
Turia, City of Arts & Beach
Day two follows the Jardín del Turia, the unique park in the old riverbed, past the giant climbable Parque Gulliver to Santiago Calatrava's futuristic City of Arts and Sciences. There the science museum in its whale-skeleton building and the Oceanogràfic, Europe's largest aquarium, await, before finishing on the broad Playa de la Malvarrosa.
