About me
Short Trips Europe is my own personal passion project, and I run it single-handedly.
It all started with our family city breaks. Before every trip I would research the city in detail. What did I want to see, in what order did it make sense, and above all, how could I get from A to B on foot and by public transport without ever doubling back?
The result was the same every time. With a finished plan in my head, the holiday itself was far more relaxed. No stress at the station, no guessing how the public transport worked. We used our days much more efficiently and simply saw more in the end.
At some point my wife pointed out that I had already done all the work anyway. I could just as easily share it with other people. That is exactly what Short Trips Europe became. Over the past months I have built the project up piece by piece, hour after hour. Ready-made walking routes that start and end at a station, with all the public transport details included.
How a route comes together
Every route follows the same principle. It starts and ends at a public transport station, passes the most important sights in a sensible order and avoids doubling back. All the bus and train details are included, so all you have to do on the spot is set off. I鈥檒l show you exactly how it works step by step in the guide.
Everything is made by hand, the routes, the texts, the choice of stops. Even with careful checking, with this much handwork something can occasionally be slightly off. That鈥檚 why I count on your help. If you spot a mistake or have a comment, feel free to write to me at [email protected]. I鈥檓 glad of every piece of feedback.
On our next city breaks I now gather the information, photos and data deliberately the way I need them for this project, since it only came along later. That way Short Trips Europe grows a little further with every trip.
Thank you for being part of it. If you like, take a look at the cities and find the route for your next city break.
